ST. LOUIS -
Junior men's golfer Kyle Bragg was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, as announced to league office Wednesday afternoon, after leading the Redbirds to their second consecutive top-three finish and fourth-straight top-10 tally. Bragg was second individually in the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate, held Sunday and Monday.
With 36-holes slated for Sunday, Bragg found himself in red numbers early, after firing a 3-under-par 67 in the opening round. Bragg's solid play continued in Sunday's second-round of action, carding a 4-under-par 66 to put him 7-under-par for the tournament and in second-place going into the final day.
In the final round, Bragg played consistent golf tallying a 1-over-par 71, finishing the tournament at 6-under-par. This was good enough to secure second-place with a three-round total of 204 (67-66-71).
The Redbirds finished ahead of Valley foes Southern Illinois (sixth-place), Missouri State (seventh-place), Northern Iowa (ninth-place), Bradley (10th-place) and Creighton (T11th-place).
The Redbirds will conclude their fall season, Oct. 27-28, in the Sam H. Hall Intercollegiate at Hattiesburg Country Club.
