NORMAL, Ill. -
The Illinois State women's tennis team will travel back to UNLV this spring, as head coach Chris Hoover announced the dual match addition to the 2008-09 season schedule Wednesday.
Illinois State first played UNLV this season at the UNLV Invitational Sept, 26-28, where Tanja Hrovatic placed second in Flight 3 singles play.
Along with UNLV, the Redbirds also added dual matches with UC-Riverside and Utah State in the spring.
The Redbirds are set to play UNLV Feb. 20, 2009, UC-Riverside Feb. 21, 2009, and Utah State Feb. 22, 2009, with all three matches taking place at Fertitta Tennis Complex in Las Vegas.
The Redbirds were originally set to play Butler at home the weekend of Feb. 20-22, 2009, but due to scheduling conflicts, Butler had to cancel the match.
"It did not work out with Butler this season," said Hoover. "However, I'm sure we will see them next season. The cancellation of the Butler match also gave us a chance to pick up these high-quality, late dual match additions."
The match against Indiana State on March 28, 2009, has also been moved to March 29, 2009. It will be a home match for the Redbirds at Gregory Street Tennis Courts, weather permitting.
The Redbirds begin their spring 2009 team season at home by hosting IUPUI Jan. 23, 2009, at the Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington, Ill.
