TORONTO, Canada -
Former Illinois State linebacker and current member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Cameron Siskowic was named the Canadian Football League's (CFL) Defensive Player of the Week Tuesday.
Siskowic recorded six tackles, a quarterback sack and a fumble recovery in his first career start at middle linebacker in the Tiger-Cats' 44-38 win over Montreal. Siskowic was instrumental in holding Montreal running back Avon Cobourne to only 10 yards on six carries, tackling him five times. Siskowic was also the only Tiger-Cat to sack Alouette quarterback Anthony Calvillo, reaching him in the middle of the second quarter.
Siskowic, who beat out Saskatchewan's Sean Lucas and Montreal's Matthieu Proulx for the league's weekly defensive honor, has 12 tackles, a quarterback sack and a fumble recovery in three games this season.
