Illinois State's head women's tennis coach Chris Hoover announced the addition of nationally-ranked German player Ariane Maack to the 2009-2010 roster.
Ranked No. 185 in the German women's rankings, Maack comes to Illinois State from Weilheim Baden Wuerttemberg, Germany. Since 2004, Maack has played on the club TC BW Waihingen/Rohr team. She also played at the No. 2 position at Schlossgymansium, her high school in Kirchheim.
"Ariane will be a great addition to the team next year," said Hoover. "She is ranked 124 in the under 21 age bracket in Germany."
The Redbirds will begin their spring 2009 team season at home on the Evergreen Racquet Club courts Jan. 23, 2009, as they host IUPUI.
