Six ISU Basketball Games to Air Locally on Comcast

Nov. 6, 2008

NORMAL, Ill. - Details surrounding the agreement between Illinois State Athletics and Comcast Spotlight have been finalized. As a result, the local cable carrier will produce and televise six Redbird men's basketball games and an ISU women's basketball game to be announced.

The six-game agreement for the men's basketball team consists of three home games and three road games, including the season-opener at Wright State. In addition to the Nov. 15 telecast, the Redbirds' games at Indiana State (Jan. 10) and Northern Iowa (Jan. 28) will also be televised back in central Illinois.

The ISU games will be available on channel 74 in both the Bloomington-Normal and Peoria markets. These channels are available to all Comcast customers in those areas as part of the "Classic" level of service. In addition, Mediacom in central Illinois will also carry the games on channel 78.

Comcast will also carry the home games against Bowling Green (Dec. 6), UIC (Dec. 20) and Bradley (Jan. 31). Check your local listings for more information.

WMBD sports director Kurt Pegler and former ISU assistant men's basketball coach Bob Morris will serve as the broadcast team on all six telecasts.
