Illinois State-Northern Illinois Softball Added to Radio

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State Athletics Department and WJBC-AM 1230, Bloomington announced Tuesday that the Illinois State softball team's March 11 home doubleheader against in-state foe Northern Illinois will air live on WJBC2.com, as part of the Redbird softball team's season-long radio package. The game will mark the home-opener for the Redbirds, and live radio coverage of the game on WJBC2.com will begin at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 from the Redbird Softball Complex. Zach Parcell, the voice of Redbird softball, will handle the play-by-play duties.

Redbird Softball 2008 Radio Schedule

The addition of the March 11 home doubleheader brings the total number of Illinois State softball regular-season broadcasts to 31, all of which will air either on WJBC-AM 1230, Bloomington or WJBC2.com. In addition, all games that Illinois State plays at the 2008 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Softball Tournament in Carbondale, Ill., May 8-10 will air live on WJBC2.com.

Illinois State returns to action at 2 p.m. CST Friday against Radford in the first of five games that the Redbirds are scheduled to play at the Littlewood Classic in Tempe, Ariz.
