Women's tennis head coach Chris Hoover has added a home match against Eastern Illinois to the ISU spring schedule. The Redbirds will compete against the Panthers Friday, Feb. 29, at 7:30 p.m. at the Evergreen Racquet Club, in Bloomington, Ill. The Redbirds currently have a season record of 2-4, while the Panthers are 5-0. The women's tennis team last faced the Panthers in Jan. of 2007, when they topped the Panthers 4-3.
Hoover feels this competition is great preparation for the many matches coming up during spring break.
"I'm glad we had the ability to play Eastern Illinois," said Hoover. "Luckily both of our schedules opened up, allowing us to fit this match in. Eastern Illinois is a good team. They always give us a good match, and I'm happy I can get the student -athletes on the court before our five matches during spring break."
