The Illinois State women's golf team will head to Gainesville, Fla. Thursday-Saturday, March 13-15 for the Gainesville Shootout III, hosted by Florida. The 54-hole event takes place at the Mark Bostick Golf Course, a par-70, 5,907 yard course, located on northwest-side of the Florida Campus.
The Redbirds are coming off an eighth-place tie at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational after recording a three-round-total of 918 (300, 310, 308). The Gainesville Shootout resembles Rio Verde in that it is a three day event, with 18-holes being played each day.
The Redbirds will be led by sophomore Stacey Miller, who leads ISU with a 77.0 season-scoring average. Redshirt sophomore Marisa Milligan also figures to be in the mix as she is coming off a seventh-place tie at Rio Verde after posting a three-round-total of 222 (74, 76, 72).
Illinois State will be joined in the 16-team field by in-state rival Illinois, but no Missouri Valley Conference teams other than ISU are competing in the event.
Tee times are scheduled for 8:45 a.m. EST shotgun starts each of the three days.
