NORMAL, Ill. -
The Illinois State softball team's game against No. 14/18 DePaul, originally scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday in Chicago, has been cancelled due to snow that still covers the Blue Demons' field. The game will be made up next season when Illinois State will travel to Chicago to take on DePaul at Cacciatore Stadium.
The cancellation marks the 10th game this season that the Redbirds have had either cancelled or postponed. Illinois State has played only three games in a nearly one-month period, as it went 1-2 last weekend against Missouri State in its Missouri Valley Conference-opening series in Springfield, Mo.
Illinois State will stay on the road this weekend and return to Valley action with a three-game set against Southern Illinois in Carbondale, Ill. The Redbirds and Salukis will kick off the series with a noon doubleheader Saturday, followed by a single game at noon Sunday.
