`Tacklin' Football IV' - A Ladies-Only, Football Clinic

July 30, 2008

NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State head football coach Denver Johnson and Radio Bloomington (WJBC, WBNQ, B104, WTRX and WJEZ) personalities will host "Tacklin' Football IV," a ladies-only, football clinic, at the Kaufman Football Building Saturday, Aug. 16, from 3-5 p.m., prior to the Redbird Fan Fair and annual Passages Football Scrimmage.

The "Tacklin' Football IV" clinic is completely free, but enrollment is limited to only 125. To learn more about the game of football, register by calling Pam Merna at the Kaufman Football Building at (309) 438-8671. Space is limited, and the first 100 women to register will receive a complimentary, souvenir T-shirt.

"I have really enjoyed this clinic over the years," said Johnson. "We try to keep it light and fun, but we talk about things that a lot of men don't even know about the game of football. We will cover everything from spectator to participant, and try to address all levels of interest."

In addition to breaking down the game of football, tailgating will also be provided, compliments of Moe's Southwestern Grill, prior to Illinois State's Passages Scrimmage. The annual scrimmage will begin at 7 p.m., in Hancock Stadium.

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and Rooms Direct are the other sponsors of the "Tacklin' Football IV" clinic.
