Former Illinois State quarterback Kevin Glenn and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers were on the short end of a defensive battle in the 2007 Grey Cup rematch against Saskatchewan Sunday, as the Bombers lost 19-6 in Canadian Football League action.
Glenn completed 28-of-42 passes for 269 yards, but did not connect for a touchdown. He did throw a pair of interceptions and added a fumble, for three of Winnipeg's four interceptions. Winnipeg compiled 305 yards of total offense, while Saskatchewan totaled 212 yards of offense in the win.
With the loss, Winnipeg fell to 2-7 on the season. The two teams each managed a field goal in the first quarter and the initial frame ended tied, 3-3. The Roughriders rattled off 13 second-quarter points and held a 16-3 lead at halftime.
Saskatchewan added to its lead with another field goal in the third quarter, before Winnipeg broke the scoring column again early in the fourth quarter with its second field goal of the game for the final score.
Winnipeg and Saskatchewan will face each other in seven days, with the Blue Bombers hosting the Roughriders Sept. 7.
