TORONTO, Canada -
Former Illinois State quarterback Kevin Glenn threw for four touchdowns, including three over 40 yards in length, to lead Winnipeg to a 39-9 victory over Toronto at the Rogers Centre Friday night.
Glenn threw for 319 yards on 15-for-26 passing, as the Bombers improved to 3-8 on the season and kept their playoff hopes alive.
The Argos (4-7) opened the scoring in the first quarter as kicker Mike Vanderjagt connected from 41-yards away, putting the hometown squad up 3-0. It would be the only time the hosts would hold the lead, as the Bomber offense quickly responded. After a short third-down conversion, Glenn threw a perfect ball to speedy wide out Terrence Edwards, who scampered 64 yards for the touchdown, and the Bombers led 7-3.
Then Glenn connected with Milt Stegall on a pair of touchdown routes, one for 16 yards and the second for 92, as Winnipeg took a 28-3 lead.
On Winnipeg's opening play of the fourth, Glenn found an open Romby Bryant behind the Toronto secondary for a 45-yard touchdown, and the Blue and Gold were on cruise control, up 38-9.
The Blue Bombers return to action Friday when Winnipeg travels to Hamilton.
