Illinois State head men's tennis coach Cris James announced the addition of freshman Micah LeMoine to the 2008-09 Redbird roster.
"Micah has a lot of talent and is a strong athlete," said James. "His dedicated to become the best player he can be and his commitment to the sport will help him develop into a solid college player."
Prior to Illinois State LeMoine played tennis at Muskogee High School in Muskogee, Okla. During his senior year, LeMoine placed third in state singles, attained a No. 24 national doubles ranking and led the all-state team in singles and doubles victories. LeMoine joined the varsity squad his sophomore year when he placed fourth in singles and second in doubles at the Midwest Closed event.
James feels that LeMoine will be a great addition to the growing program.
"He is going to bring a high level of commitment and dedication to our team," said James. "This shows he is willing to put in the work it takes to become an outstanding player."
