ST. LOUIS -
For the second time this season and for the fourth time in his career, Illinois State's Osiris Eldridge was named the Missouri Valley Conference's Player of the Week by the league office Monday.
Last week, Eldridge was the Redbird catalyst in ISU's first-ever back-to-back 20-plus-point wins over Valley schools. The junior averaged 21 points per game for the week, as Illinois State posted huge victories over a pair of teams that entered their game on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena with a 21-4 combined record.
Eldridge shot 56 percent from the field, converting 14 of his 25 shots. He also shot 57.1 percent on threes, making 8-of-14. Eldridge averaged seven rebounds, three assists and three steals per game for the Redbirds during the week.
Illinois State, along with Eldridge, returns to action Tuesday night when the Redbirds travel to Bradley. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
