Doubles Results 
Senior Julia Zubkova and Redbird teammate Franziska Steinhardt continued their doubles success as the Illinois State women's tennis team wrapped up day two at the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championships on Friday, Oct. 22.
Being the only Redbird duo to compete at the tournament, Zubkova and Steinhardt faced Kirsten Flower and Christina Keesey of Ohio State besting them, 9-7. In tomorrow's doubles play, the twosome will face Samantha Murray and Stacey Lee of Northwestern.
Head coach Chris Hoover is excited to see the duo advance into the quarterfinals.
"We're happy and glad that we have a win and that we live to play another day," Hoover said. "We didn't play our best but truthfully we can do better. We're hopeful that tomorrow we'll put together a solid doubles match."
Doubles play will continue Saturday, Oct. 24, at 9 a.m.
