NORMAL, Ill. - Lloyd Phillips led all scorers with 14 points and hit four of Illinois State's 10 three-point field goals during a 66-50 win over Quincy in exhibition play on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena Wednesday night.

Phillips was 5-of-11 from the field, including 4-of-8 from beyond the three-point line, and helped key a long-distance assault from Illinois State in their lone exhibition game before the 2009-10 season. Terry Johnson was perfect on all four of his shot attempts to join Phillips in double figures with 11 points. The Redbirds connected on 41.7 percent (10-of-24) of their three-point field goals in the game.

Illinois State's Osiris Eldridge connected from long range on the game's first shot attempt and scored on a lay-up to give the Redbirds a quick 5-0 lead. The lead changed four times in the first half and was tied five times before a dunk by Dinma Odiakosa at 4:39 put the Redbirds up 23-21. That's the last time the lead would change as Illinois State charged into the break with a 32-29 lead and never relinquished.

The Redbirds opened the second half on an 8-1 run, keyed by a Phillips lay-up and three-pointer. Illinois State pushed its lead to as much as 18 in the final two minutes of the game before settling on a 16-point advantage at the final buzzer.

Illinois State's Justin Clark and Osiris Eldridge narrowly missed reaching double figures with nine points each. Eldridge chipped in a game high six assists and Tony Lewis led all rebounders with nine boards.

Billy Baptist led Quincy with 13 points and seven rebounds. Andreas Coleman and Andrew Kueker both scored seven points for the Hawks, who shot only 29.8 percent for the game.
