Bossle Signs NLI to Join Illinois State Gymnastics

Nov. 13, 2009

NORMAL, Ill. - Jenna Bossle, a Phenom Gymnastics Club member and West Chicago Community High School senior, signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) Friday and will further her academic and gymnastics career at Illinois State.

"We are very excited about having a gymnast of Jenna's caliber joining our team next season," head coach Bob Conkling said. "She has proven herself as a strong competitor throughout her career, winning many important titles and competitions."

Bossle is a two-time Junior Olympic National Qualifier and was the 2007 Region 5 vault, balance beam and all-around champion. In 2006, Bossle was the level 10 state champion on all-around and floor exercise. She has also competed internationally with the Region V All-Star Team in El Salvador.

Bossle will also contribute to the gymnastics team academically. She is ranked No. 1 in her class and maintains a 4.0 grade-point-average. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and has been on honor roll every semester of high school.

"Jenna does not have a weak event and should help us on all four gymnastic events," Conkling said. "Not only is Jenna a strong gymnast, but she is also a very strong student. I believe that Jenna will be a great student-athlete, not only for the gymnastics team, but for the ISU athletic department."
