ISU Athletics, A `Hoops for Haiti' Drop-Off Site

Nov. 25, 2009

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State University and Illinois Wesleyan University Student-Athlete Advisory Councils (SAAC) have joined forces to support "Hoops for Haiti," a March 2010 basketball mission trip to Haiti, and the groups are asking Redbird and Titan fans; ISU and IWU alumni, faculty and staff; and members of the Bloomington-Normal community to help support the cause.

To support the trip, the SAAC committees are holding a public collection from Monday, Nov. 30, thru Friday, Dec. 4, in hopes of collecting as many new or used tennis shoes and basketballs, as possible.

Drop-off locations on the Illinois State campus are the Karin Bone Athletics Study Center, 211 Horton Field House, 213 Redbird Arena or the lobby of the Kaufman Football Building. In addition, Redbird basketball fans will also have the opportunity to bring basketball balls and tennis shoes to the men's game on Dec. 5 (Central Michigan at 7:05 p.m.) or the women's game on Dec. 28 (DePaul at 7:05 p.m.).
