Following Illinois State's title run in the 2009 Basketball Travelers Classic and a 6-0 start to the 2009-10 season, the Illinois State men's basketball team has started receiving national attention in the form of four votes in both of this week's Associated Press and USA Today/Coaches Top-25 polls.
According to the Associated Press Web site, the Redbirds received a No. 24 ranking on both John Feinstein (NPR) and Steve DeShazo (The Free Lance Star-Fredericksburg) ballots to account for the four votes.
The Redbirds will return to action Saturday, when they host Central Michigan on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena. Tipoff is at 7:05 p.m.
