Redbirds-Braves Series
Illinois State leads the all-time series with Bradley, 41-6. The series began in 1983 and the Redbirds won the first 14 meetings. Bradley won three-straight matches from 2001-02, the only time the Braves have won consecutive matches in the series. The Redbirds have won eight-straight matches, six in three sets; including a sweep Oct. 9.
Redbirds-Panthers Series
Northern Iowa leads the all-time series with Illinois State, 36-19. The series began in 1982 and the two teams split the first 20 meetings. Since 1995, UNI is 24-10 against ISU, with nine of those wins coming when the Panthers are nationally-ranked. The Redbirds beat the eighth-ranked Panthers in 2003. UNI won in four sets Oct. 10. Illinois State has not won in the McLeod Center since 2005. Last season at UNI, Illinois State came back from an 0-2 deficit to send the match to a fifth set, falling 15-13.
MVC Tournament Picture
Illinois State enters the weekend in 8th place in the Valley with a 5-8 conference record. The Redbirds have the top three teams and the bottom two teams in the conference left on their schedule, with the final three matches at home. ISU is one match behind Creighton, Evansville and Southern Illinois, who are all tied for fifth place in the conference. Evansville and Southern Illinois visit Wichita State and Missouri State this weekend.
Historic Double-Double
Junior Mallory Leggett is part of an exclusive club in ISU volleyball history. Leggett has eclipsed both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career in the past three matches, becoming just the fifth player in school history to accomplish both feats (Chris Rehor-Federico, Kim Nelson-Brown, Patti Hoppa, M.C. Richmond). Mollerus is just the second player in ISU history to reach both marks in her junior season, along with Rehor Federico. Leggett's first two kills in her 21 kill performance against Drake (Oct. 24) gave her 1,000 and the last of her 17 digs against Southern Illinois (Oct. 31) was number 1,000.
