NORMAL, Ill. - The day before the Redbirds start their run at a WNIT title, the Illinois State women's basketball team would like to invite its fans for a celebration at Redbird Arena Tuesday, April 14, to commemorate the 2008-09 season. Admission is free to the public and there will be complimentary snacks and drinks provided, courtesy of the Illinois State Athletics Department. The Redbird Arena doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the party will go from 7-8:30 p.m.
Head coach Robin Pingeton, her coaching staff and players will all be on hand to relive all of the memories from the past season, including a Missouri Valley Conference regular-season championship and the trip to the WNIT, the team's third-straight appearance in the postseason.
There is no registration or RSVP required for the event and free parking will be available in the Turner Lot on the East side of Redbird Arena and in all West Campus parking lots. A highlight video of the season will be shown and the annual Redbird basketball awards will be presented. Seniors Brea Banks, Kristi Cirone and Ashley Sandstead will be honored for their years with ISU basketball and will give speeches.
