The Illinois State Athletics Department announced the first two dates of the 2009 Spread the Red Caravan Friday, as Redbird Athletics will be traveling to Springfield, Ill., May 7 and Joliet, Ill., May 12, as part of the Illinois State-Notre Dame baseball game at Silver Cross Field.
The May 7 event in Springfield will be held at the Dublin Pub (2413 S MacArthur Blvd.), and will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The event is $10 per person and includes appetizers and soft drinks. A cash bar will also be available.
To make a reservation for the Springfield Spread the Red Caravan, please contact the Redbird Arena Ticket Office at (309) 438-8000 before May 1.
The May 12 event in Joliet will be held in the leftfield picnic area at Silver Cross Field prior to the Redbird-Fighting Irish baseball game and it will run from 5:30-6:45 p.m. The event is $15 per person, which includes all-you-can-eat hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, and soft drinks. To purchase tickets for the Spread the Red Caravan event contact the Redbird Arena Ticket Office at (309) 438-8000. Both the Springfield and Joliet Spread the Red Caravans will feature Illinois State coaches and administrators. There will also be raffle items at both events, including a Redbird football or volleyball weekend package and a men's or women's basketball weekend package.
