NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State baseball coaching staff will host a pair of summer baseball camps - the Redbird Kids All-Skills Camp and the Future Redbird Advanced Camp - each with weeklong sessions from June 8-July 3, the baseball office announced Wednesday.

Interested individuals can register for one, two, three or all four weeks of instruction, with special savings available to participants who register for more than one session. Registration for each camp is available online through the "Camps" link at GoRedbirds.com.

The Redbird Kids All-Skills Camp is intended for players 6-10 years old and will focus on learning the fundamentals of the game in a fun and energetic atmosphere. The Future Redbird Advanced Camp is geared towards players 11-14 years old and is designed to prepare players for the transition to junior high or high school baseball while also taking their game to the next level.

"Our goals for each camper are great instruction and great fun," Illinois State associate head coach Mark Kingston said. "For the youngsters in the Redbird Kids All-Skills Camp, we will teach a solid foundation of baseball through drills and encouragement. Each day will contain teaching and game environments. For the older players in our Future Redbird Advanced Camp, our approach will be to refine skills in order to help each participant reach his potential. Each day campers will get personal instruction, drill work, and game play. Both camps will be beneficial for development and a great way to spend the summer."

Registration for the Redbird baseball summer camps will be open until each camp is full. For further information or any questions, contact Redbird assistant coach Mike Current at 309-438-3338 or mpcurre@ilstu.edu.
