Incoming Illinois State freshmen basketball players Terrence Johnson and Zeke Upshaw will conclude their high school careers by competing in the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Class 3A/4A Senior All-Star Game June 27 at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Ill. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Johnson, who attended North Lawndale College Prep, and Upshaw, a University (Chicago) High School product will both suit up for the North team. The tandem is used to playing together, as both Johnson and Upshaw were teammates on the Mac Irvin Fire AAU team.
The two future Redbirds are two of the eight newcomers who will be on Illinois State's roster this season, joining juniors Austin Hill (Southeastern Illinois JC), Tony Lewis (Ellsworth CC) and Blake Mishler (East Tennessee State) and freshmen Jackie Carmichael (South Kent Prep), Justin Clark (Chrisman HS) and Jon Ekey (Chrisman HS).
