NORMAL, Ill. -
Signing on for its 16th men's basketball season, WFMB-AM 1450 in Springfield will continue to be a part of the Redbird Radio Network for Illinois State men's basketball broadcasts during the 2009-10 athletic season.
"We value and appreciate our relationship with WFMB, and are pleased to continue our partnership for another season," said ISU Director of Athletics Dr. Sheahon Zenger. "The Springfield market is important to our department because of the large numbers of fans and alumni in the area. We appreciate the support of Kevin O'Dea and his staff, and their efforts to help promote Redbird Athletics."
Final formatting on which basketball games will air has not yet taken place, since the Illinois State schedule has yet to be released. A final broadcast schedule will be issued at a later date.
"Neuhoff Media Springfield and Sports Radio 1450 have enjoyed a long relationship with Illinois State basketball," said O'Dea. "The response to airing the Redbird games over the last several years has been very positive, especially from area alumni. We look forward to a successful 2009-10 season and many more in the years to come."
Other Redbird Radio Network stations include WJBC-AM 1230 in Bloomington (flagship) and WJEZ-FM 98.9 in Dwight, while negotiations with other stations throughout the state are ongoing.
