Bachman Earns Second-Straight Women's City Golf Tournament Title

Aug. 4, 2009

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Illinois State sophomore Hannah Bachman took the title at the two-day Women's City Golf Tournament July 25-26. The first round was held at the Bunn Golf Course and the tournament completed at the Lincoln Greens Golf Course.

Bachman won the 36-hole event with a score of 149 (77-72), just two strokes ahead of Michelle Anderson to earn the Women's City Golf Tournament title for the second-consecutive year.

"I am very excited for Hannah's repeat victory," said Illinois State head women's golf coach Darby Sligh. "She has worked tirelessly throughout this past year and summer to get to where she is and I could not be happier for her. I cannot wait for her to get on campus this fall and continue to build on the foundation she has created."

Bachman struggled on the front nine of the first day of the tournament, but ended up on top. She birdied three holes and bogeyed one to card a two-under par at the turn Sunday. After shooting stroke-for-stroke with Anderson on the back nine, Bachman parred the final hole to win.
