ITA All-American Champtionship Results Day 1 
Illinois State's Alexander Pelaez and Timon Reichelt won their matches Saturday at the D'Novo/ITA All-American Championships at the University of Tulsa. Both will advance to the third round of play Sunday at the Case Tennis Center.
After receiving a bye in the first round of play, Pelaez beat Oklahoma's Lawrence Formentera, 6-1, 6-4, in the second round. Reichelt went undefeated as well Saturday defeating Jordan Smith of Memphis, 6-1, 6-4 in the first round and TCU's Chris Price in the second round, 6-4, 6-4.
Head coach Chris James was pleased with the results.
"I am overall happy with the team's performance", said James. "This is a top tournament with great competition from all over the country. I think it was a great day and we were able to show off our skills well."
Redbirds Matej Zlatkovic and Filip Miljevic also competed in the tournament Saturday. Zlatkovic received a bye in the first round but was defeated by Texas A&M's Niall Angus, 6-3, 6-3. Miljevic defeated Austen Kauss of Iowa, 6-2, 6-3, but lost in a thrilling match to East Tennessee State's Jesus Bandres, 7-6, 7-6.
"I am proud of the whole team," said James. "Everyone played well, and although Filip had a heartbreaking loss, we have some high expectations for play Sunday."
Play for the D'Novo/ITA All-American Tennis Championships resumes Sunday at the Case Tennis Center.
