SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Senior Timon Reichelt and sophomore Alexander Pelaez fell just short of reaching the championship match of the doubles main draw Monday at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships in South Bend, Ind.

Reichelt and Pelaez were up-ended by Ohio State's Matt Allare and Peter Kobelt in heart-breaking fashion, 9-8 (7-5). In a match that featured few service breaks, Reichelt and Pelaez only lost one point on their serve in the tiebreaker, which ultimately led to their defeat.

Despite coming up short, head coach Cris James was more than impressed with Reichelt and Pelaez.

"This loss stings quite a bit, but Timon and Alex really played great all weekend," James said. "They're playing at a very high level right now. If they keep this up, I don't see why they can't crack the top 25 or 30 ranking in the nation."

With a 4-1 record this weekend, Reichelt and Pelaez improved their fall record to 9-2.

The Redbirds will wrap up their fall season this weekend in Kalamazoo, Mich., at the Vredevelt Invitational, hosted by Western Michigan University. All six Redbirds will be in action.
