"Although we had a few bright spots with Cooper shooting 72 in the morning, we were plagued with big numbers throughout the day. We really need to reach deep inside tomorrow and show some guts to end the fall season."

Junior Hannah Bachman tied for 69th place after a 19-over-par 161 (83-78), and freshman Jordyn Wyzgowski shot a 21-over-par 163 (82-81), ending the day tied for 74th.

Charleston led the field of 18 teams at the conclusion of day one with a 36-hole 578 (287-291), with Leigh Whittaker in first place individually after tying the school record for lowest round in Charleston's history with a 134 (67-67). Kennesaw State sits two strokes behind the Cougars, with a 580 (282-298), going into day two.

Tuesday's third and final round will tee off at 8:30 a.m., in shotgun format.
