NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State football head coach Brock Spack will give his insights on his team's upcoming game at Indiana State and will recap last week's tough loss to No. 23 Southern Illinois Tuesday at noon his weekly press conference at the Kaufman Football Building.
The Redbirds had a hard time stopping the run against the No. 23 ranked Salukis and suffered a 38-17 defeat, which dropped them into a tie for third in the conference standings at 2-1 through five games. The Sycamores head into this week's game with a 2-2 record, after defeating Quincy at home by a score of 56-22 at Memorial Stadium. The Redbirds have won the last five meetings against the Sycamores and have won 11 out of the last 12 games in the series overall.
Coach Spack will be joined at the weekly luncheon by senior safety Kelvyn Hemphill and junior offensive lineman Nick Bledsoe, who were both named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference preseason team prior to the season. Since returning to the starting lineup after being slowed by an ankle injury, Hemphill has recorded 21 tackles in two games with an interception. Bledsoe has been one of the stalwarts on the ISU offensive line the past two seasons, starting in 16-straight games at guard or center.
The live video can be seen on Redbird All-Access, the Illinois State Athletics Department's exclusive multimedia platform. The video will also be archived following the completion of the press conference and can then be viewed on demand.
