COLUMBIA, Mo. -

After having a difficult first day of competition at the Johnie Imes Invitational, the Redbirds tied for 12th place, carding a 58-over-par 922 (320-302-300), at Missouri's Club at Old Hawthorne.

Continuing her success from the second round, freshman Brianna Cooper fired a one-over-par 75 in the third round, totaling a 12-over-par 228 (82-71-75), and tying her for 31st place in the tournament. Sophomore Katie Jean moved up to 50th place after round three and shot a 17-over-par 233 (84-76-73). Senior Terra Miller (79-82-74) stepped up in the final round to tie with freshman Jordyn Wyzgowski (81-76-78) in 55th place after both shot a 19-over-par 235. Junior Hannah Bachman finished tied for 58th place with a 20-over-par 236 (78-79-79).

"This is the round we have been looking for all year," head coach Darby Sligh said. "Everyone fought the entire day and showed an immense amount of heart. Miller, Jean and Cooper proved to be our foundation and I'm looking for that to continue."

Oklahoma State took the team and individual championship titles as the Cowboys carded a one-under-par 863 (293-286-284), while Victoria Park (72-75-65) and Courtney McKim (73-68-71) tied for first, both firing a four-under-par 212.

"We have two weeks off to rest and prepare for the last tournament of the season," Sligh said. "I am extremely proud of the way they finished this week."

The women's golf team will return to campus until October 25-26, when the Redbirds will travel to Kiawah Island, S.C., for the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate.
