NORMAL, Ill. -
Former Illinois State forward Anthony Slack was named one of the top performers of the week by EuroBasket.com after the first week of action in the Austrian A Bundesliga league.
Slack, who suited up for the Redbirds during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons, led Allianz Swans Gmunden to an 88-42 win at BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld, on Oct. 2. Slack finished with 15 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. He was 7-for-11 from the field and also added a game-best five steals and two blocked shots.
This is Slack's third season playing in Europe. In his first year after ISU, Slack played for Gryfony Symferopil in the Ukraine-UBL. Last season, Slack was teammates with another former Redbird, Emmanuel Holloway, on the UBC Hannover Tigers of the German Pro A League.
