NORMAL, Ill. -
Illinois State head volleyball coach Melissa Myers has announced the hiring of Ashley Moore as the director of volleyball operations. Moore played for Myers at California University (Pa.).
"We're excited to have Ashley join our staff," Myers said. "She has great character and work ethic and will represent our program well."
Moore was a four-year letterwinner for the Vulcans, playing two years for Myers, and was a two-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athlete selection. She helped Cal to a 141-19 overall record and three-straight PSAC and NCAA Atlantic Region Championships, competing in three NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearances. She was active in the California Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), serving as the president as a senior. She also served as a summer volleyball camp counselor and as director of several club volleyball tournaments.
"I chose to come to Illinois State for the opportunity to work with and learn more from Melissa Myers. She has been a mentor to me throughout my playing career and I look forward to working with her again while pursuing my master's degree," said Moore. "I am grateful for this chance for personal and career development."
Moore has volunteered with numerous organizations, including the Special Olympics, Read Across America and Community Clean-Up. She earned her bachelor's degree in business from California University (Pa.) in December 2009 and is pursuing a master's degree in business administration at Illinois State.
