This "Senior Special" isn't just for senior citizens, instead it is available to anyone wishing to say "thanks" to two of the winningnest senior basketball classes in Illinois State history. Patrons can say farewell to three men's basketball seniors Wednesday night, as the Redbirds host Indiana State on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena at 7:05 p.m., and to three women's basketball seniors Sunday when ISU hosts Northern Iowa at 2:05 p.m., for only $3 per game.
Osiris Eldridge, Dinma Odiakosa and Lloyd Phillips will play their final regular-season home game Wednesday night. The trio has combined to score 3,322 points, grab 1,520 rebounds, dish out 575 assists, post 317 steals and win 93 games. The Redbirds have advanced to postseason play twice, while posting three-straight 20-win seasons and advancing to the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship Game two years in a row.
On the women's side, Ashleen Bracey, Maggie Krick and Nicolle Lewis, all three 1,000-point scorers, is the winningnest senior class in Redbird women's basketball history. With 95 career wins, these seniors have been a part of four-straight 20-win seasons. They have earned three-straight postseason bids with back-to-back Missouri Valley Conference regular-season championships and a chance to claim their third Thursday night at Redbird Arena against Bradley.
