For the second-straight season, the Illinois State men's basketball team will end the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season on ESPN2, as part of the Valley's "Wildcard Weekend." The Feb. 27 game against Northern Iowa at the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa, will tipoff at 7 p.m. CST.
The Redbirds (15-8 overall and 6-6 in the Valley) ended the 2008-09 regular season at Creighton and suffered a 74-70 loss. This year, the Redbirds will face the nation's No. 22 team, the UNI Panthers.
This will mark the fourth time this season Illinois State will appear on the ESPN family of networks. Earlier this season, the Redbirds hosted UNI on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena, which was also televised on ESPN2. The Panthers posted a 59-44 win.
