Redbirds-Panthers Series
Illinois State leads the all-time series with Northern Iowa, 36-22. After UNI won the first meeting in 1976, Illinois State won 28 of the next 30 games, including 22-straight. Northern Iowa has a 19-8 edge since then. The two teams have met in the Valley Tournament twice-a 58-48 ISU win in 2005 and a 7-62 UNI win in 2006.
This Season vs. Northern Iowa
Illinois State swept the season series with Northern Iowa, winning the two games by an average of 4.5 points per game. ISU beat UNI on the road, 70-64 (Jan. 28) and at home, 69-66 (Feb. 28). Maggie Krick (15.0 ppg), Nicolle Lewis (14.5) and Ashleen Bracey (12.5 ppg) all shot above 45 percent against the Panthers. Illinois State shot 49.5 percent as a team against UNI. In the comeback home victory, Alexis Jenkins had career-highs of 21 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals.
