Cal Ripken Jr. Visits Redbird Baseball Practice Photo Gallery
NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State baseball team received a visit from Major League Baeball Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr. during Thursday afternoon's practice. Ripken was in town as a guest of State Farm and the American Red Cross for the annual "Evening with the Stars" Thursday night at the Marriott Hotel and Convention Center in Uptown Normal.
The Missouri Valley Conference-leading Redbirds match-up with Wichita State for a pivotal three-game series at Duffy Bass Field this weekend. The series starts Friday night at 6 p.m., a Family Night at the park with a four pack of tickets (two adult and two kid tickets) selling for $10. Friday night is also Pony League night - players wearing their team jerseys will be admitted for free. The Redbirds and Shockers will meet again Saturday at 2 p.m. and conclude the series Sunday at 1 p.m.
