Illinois State seniors Stacey Miller and Marisa Milligan each fired a 1-over-par 73 in the second round of the Rebel Intercollegiate Saturday. Their effort has the Redbirds tied for 11th place with a 34-over-par 610 (310-300).
Miller jumped up 10 spots in the standings, she is now tied for 13th place with a 4-over-par 148 (75-73). Milligan, who started the day tied for 62nd place, is now tied for 38th place at 8-over-par 152 (79-73).
"Today was a very solid effort and just what we needed going into the last round," head coach Darby Sligh said. "Stacey and Marisa both played very well and I am proud of the way Terra and Laura fought all day. We are improving all of the areas we have struggled with this spring, especially our short game conversions and I believe we are ready for tomorrow."
Senior Laura Harris and junior Terra Miller are in a four-way tie for 57th place with an 11-over-par. Harris fired a 4-over-par 76, while Miller posted a 6-over-par 78. Senior Britt Knutson fell into a tie for 92nd place after posting a 9-over-par 81.
Tulane is in first place with a 6-over-par 582 (290-292). East Tennessee State is in second place at 14-over-par 590 (292-298). Mississippi rounded out the top three 593 (294-299).
Sunday's final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring is available through www.golfstat.com.
