ISU Women's Golf to Compete at Indiana Invitational

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State women's golf team will complete regular-season play of the spring season at the two-day 2010 Indiana Invitational. The event will be held at the par-72, 6,142-yard Indiana University Golf Course in Bloomington, Ind., April 10-11.

The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, with 36-holes to be played on Saturday and a final 18-holes to be played on Sunday. An awards ceremony will immediately follow play of the final round.

This will be the fourth-consecutive year the `Birds have competed in the Indiana Invitational. ISU came in 9th place last year with a team score of 965.

"This is another big week for Redbird women's golf," said head coach Darby Sligh. "We are preparing for a much bigger week next week at our conference championship. Most importantly, we are building off a solid finish last week at Ole Miss and trying to get into a rhythm for the rest of our season."

Representing the Redbirds will be seniors Stacey Miller, Marisa Milligan, Laura Harris, Britt Knutson and junior Terra Miller. ISU sophomore Hannah Bachman will be competing as an individual.

Illinois State will matchup against a 15-team field including Indiana, Ball State, Colorado, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Indiana State, Iowa State, Iowa, Lipscomb, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri-Kansas City, Missouri State, Oakland and Western Michigan.
