Final Stats
COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Illinois State women's golf team shot a 329 in the second round of the NCAA Central Regional at the Otter Creek Golf Course. The Redbirds are tied with host Indiana for 17th place overall with a two-round score of 646.
"Today was absolutely brutal as far as scoring conditions go. We tried to hold it together the best we could, but the wind got the best of us the last six holes," said Illinois State head coach Darby Sligh. "I'm extremely proud of the way we fought and I'm looking forward to seeing how far we can climb up the leaderboard tomorrow."
Senior Stacey Miller recorded the lowest round of the day for ISU with a 7-over par 79. She is tied for 17th place with a two-round score of 154. Senior Marisa Milligan had a team-best three birdies in the second round and was one shot behind Miller on the day with an 80. Miller has a total score of 159, putting her in a tie for 51st place.
Senior Laura Harris and junior Terra Miller both carded an 85 in the second round. Harris dropped in the standings to a tie for 84th place, while Miller's performance was six shots better than in the first round and she moved into a tie for 113th place. Senior Britt Knutson shot an 88 in round two and sits in a tie for 101st place with a 170 heading into the final round.
The Central Regional concludes Saturday. Illinois State tees of between 12:30-1:14 p.m.
