NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations Todd Kober announced the hiring of Dustin Hall as a graduate assistant in the Redbird Athletics Media Relations Office Monday.
"I'm excited about adding Dustin to our staff," Kober said. "He brings a unique background into our office with both media relations and play-by-play experience. I look for Dustin to play a key role in the office, as we continue to transition along with technologies."
A native of Fort Branch, Ind., Hall brings six years of experience in athletics media relations to Illinois State. After graduating from Indiana State University with a bachelor's in recreation and sport management in 2009, Hall worked as the assistant to the sports information director at the University of Indianapolis last year. His duties included serving as the primary contact for Greyhound men's and women's soccer, indoor track & field and softball, as well as announcing play-by-play of UIndy baseball and soccer.
"I consider this a great opportunity to move into the field of Division I athletics," Hall said. "Not only am I excited to expand my work experience, but also to continue my education."
While working towards his bachelor's degree at Indiana State, Hall served as an intern in the sports information office at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind. He has also worked as an intern with the NCAA and with the Evansville Otters independent league baseball team. Hall will be the primary contact for and play-by-play voice of Illinois State soccer and softball while he earns his master's in sport management at ISU.
