Lexington, Ill. - Members of the Illinois State women's basketball team spent Thursday afternoon at Camp Limberlost on Lake Bloomington. The players talked with the campers about the importance of school, working towards achieving personal goals and the path they took to becoming collegiate student-athletes. Afterwards, they signed autographs for the campers.

Seniors Amanda Clifton, Shala Jackson and Hannah Spanich and sophomores Megan Grace, Jay Stewart and Candace Sykes all made the trip out to Camp Limberlost. They were joined by assistant coach Danielle Santos and director of basketball operations Cassie Kowaleski.

Camp Limberlost is sponsored by the Bloomington Kiwanis Club and has been operating since 1931. Local children, ages 8-10, are selected by area teachers and principals based on the benefit they can experience in an environment that teaches social skills in a fun and constructive way. Camp goals include awareness of personal actions and how they affect others, developing social skills and interpersonal relationships and fostering respect of other people and cultures.
