Former ISU Running Back Makes Provisional Tusker Roster

NORMAL, Ill. - Eight-year NFL veteran and former Illinois State running back Aveion Cason has landed a spot on the Florida Tusker provisional roster, one of the five teams in the United Football League (UFL).

Cason, who spent time with the Detroit Lions, St. Louis Rams and the Dallas Cowboys, has played in 56 NFL games. He has rushed for 562 yards and three touchdowns in his career, while also totaling 63 catches for 655 yards and two touchdowns.

Cason is one of three tailbacks on the Tusker roster, joining Tatum Bell and Maurice Hicks.

The UFL is in its second year of existence and Florida will begin the 2010 season by traveling to the defending league champions, Las Vegas, on Sept. 17.
