Illinois State University Athletics

Swimming & Diving Academic Honors Recognized

Sept. 1, 2010

NORMAL, Ill - The Illinois State swimming and diving team has been recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the team's spring 2010 semester grade-point average.

Twice a year, after the fall and spring semesters, the CSCAA selects and honors teams that have earned a minimum of 3.0 GPA. The Redbirds' team combined 3.35 GPA earned them the CSCAA Scholar All-American Team honors.

Head swimming coach Steve Paska is very pleased with the success of his athletes in the classroom.

"I am very proud of the spring 2010 semester," Paska said. "The team performed exceptionally well, recording the second highest GPA in team history. With nine students earning a 4.0 GPA, it is an honor well deserved."

Missouri Valley Conference schools Evansville and Southern Illinois were also honored for their academic accomplishments by the CSCAA.
