Fairway Club Invite Final Results in PDF Format

After the Fairway Club Invitational at the ArborLinks Golf Club was delayed from Monday night and the tournament was cut to two rounds, the Illinois State men's golf team finished in the fifth-place spot with a 14-over-par 590 (292-298).
"From a competitive standpoint, you obviously want to improve or at least maintain your position, and we were not able to do that," head coach Ray Kralis said. "But finishing inside the top five is a solid starting point, and while we can learn some things from our mistakes. We can also look to a number of positives from the tournament and build on those going into Louisville next week. Cullen stepped up both rounds, and everyone contributed to the team effort."
Will Cullen continued to lead the Redbirds through the second round, as he finished tied for 10th place after firing a 1-over-par 145 (72-73). Jeff Kellen (74-75) and Eric Meier (73-76) both finished in 22nd place with a 5-over-par 149, and Drew North followed with a 6-over-par 150 (73-77). In his first tournament as a Redbird, freshman Wils Hawn completed the two rounds of play after carding an 8-over-par 152 (78-74) and tied for 40th place.
Missouri-Kansas City held onto the first-place position after shooting an even par 576 (285-291), with Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) rival Missouri State in second place with a 3-over-par 579 (291-288). Host school Nebraska took third place with a 6-over-par 582 (296-286), and Central Arkansas shot three strokes beneath ISU with an 11-over-par 587 (292-295).
Nebraska's Mike Coatman took the first-place position after the second round, with a 3-under-par 141 (73-68). Austin Miller of Creighton finished tied in second place with Kansas' Doug Quinones after shooting a 2-under-par 142 (72-70).
Illinois State men's golf returns to campus for a week of practice before heading to the Cardinal Intercollegiate September 20th.
