NORMAL, Ill. -
Illinois State women's golf looks to continue its early-season success as the Redbirds head to the Finkbine Golf Course for the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa, Saturday. The tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a shotgun start both Saturday and Sunday.
"This is a great opportunity for this team to hit the road after a victory and continue to show themselves that they can contend away from home as well," head coach Darby Sligh said. "I'm looking forward to watching what happens next for such a talented young squad. Finkbine creates tough situations for players due to their undulated greens. We have worked very hard on our putting the past few weeks, and they are ready for the test."
The Redbird squad traveling to Iowa City, Iowa, includes freshmen Brianna Cooper and Jordyn Wyzgowski, sophomore Katie Jean, junior Hannah Bachman and senior Terra Miller. Competing as an individual is freshman Carlee Cossell.
Results will be released at the end of the second round on Saturday and after the third round Sunday.
