NORMAL, Ill. -
The Illinois State women's golf team will compete in the Marilynn Smith Invitational Monday and Tuesday, as the tournament is being held at the par 72, 6242-yard Alvamar Country Club in Lawrence, Kan. "This is a turning point for us in our season," head coach Darby Sligh said. "It is important that we bounce back from last week and build momentum going into the final part of our season. We need to stay focused and finish strong."
The Redbirds competing will include senior Terra Miller, junior Hanna Bachman, sophomore Katie Jean and freshmen Brianna Cooper and Jordyn Wyzgowski. Freshman Rachel Powers will be competing as an individual.
Illinois State will be competing in the 12-team field, including Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas State, Creighton, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri-Kansas City, Nebraska, Northern Iowa, Oral Roberts, South Florida and Wichita State.
Results will be made available after the second round concludes Monday and after the third round Tuesday.
