NORMAL, Ill. -
For the eighth-straight year, Illinois State Athletics will host the "Taste of Redbirds" event in Horton Field House between the Illinois State-Missouri State basketball doubleheader Saturday, Feb. 12, on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena.
This year's "Taste of Redbirds" will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m., between the two games. The day will begin at 1:05 p.m., when the women's team hosts the Bears in their PINK game to support the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Fans will then have a chance to sample food and fun, before heading back to Redbird Arena for a 7:05 p.m. tipoff for the men's game against the Bears.
Admission to the event is free, but tickets need to be purchased for the food and beverages (while supplies last), which will be provided by Bloomington-Normal-area restaurants and vendors. Participating vendors include Alexander's Steakhouse, Avanti's, Bandana's Bar-B-Q, Beer Nuts, Buffalo Wild Wings, Denny's Doughnuts, Doubletree Hotel, DP Dough, Famous Dave's, Jimmy John's, Moe's Southwest Grill, and Times Past Inn.
In addition, the Reggie Fun Zone will be set up in the field house, which will include inflatables and a climbing wall from Upper Limits. The Alamo II will also be on hand with discounted Redbird merchandise for sale and the ISU pep band will make an appearance just prior to 6:30 p.m.
