After opening the 2011-12 home schedule with a win against Northern Illinois, the Illinois State women's basketball team will be back in action at Redbird Arena, as it hosts Illinois-Chicago, Monday, Nov. 28 at 7:05 p.m.

In its 81-62 win over NIU, ISU was led by Katie Broadway and Candace Sykes, as both guards scored 20 points in the victory. Sykes was 7-of-8 from the field, including 4-of-5 from behind the arc. The 20 points for Sykes set a career-high. Broadway shot 7-of-13 and went 4-of-5 from three-point range, scoring just two points shy of her career-high. It is the second time during the 2011-12 season that Broadway has sank 20 points in a game.

Marley Hall recorded her second-straight double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds against the Huskies. It is Hall's second-career double-double performance, with her first double-double coming nearly a week ago at Eastern Illinois (Nov. 21). .

Illinois-Chicago is 4-1, entering Monday's game. UIC beat Central Methodist on Nov. 25 in Chicago at the UIC Pavilion, 67-46. The Flames are led by Jasmine Bailey, who has 126 points in UIC's first five games, averaging 25.2 points per game. She is shooting 55 percent from the field and has brought down 57 rebounds, including 17 offensive boards. Bailey averages 11.4 rebounds per game.

Illinois State leads the all-time series, 12-2, over Illinois-Chicago. Monday's game marks the 15th meeting between ISU and UIC. The last time the two teams faced off was during the 2010-11 season, when the Redbirds won, 94-86, on Dec. 4, 2010, at Redbird Arena. ISU has won the last three contests and is undefeated against the Flames in Redbird Arena, holding a record of 6-0.

ABOUT Illinois-Chicago
• UIC is located in Chicago and has an enrollment of 27,309. The Flames are members of the Horizon League.
• The Flames return three starters from a team which finished 14-16 last season and finished fifth in conference play.
• Regina Miller is in her first year as the head coach of the Flames.

Candace Sykes scored a career-high 20 points, including four three-pointers, to help lift Illinois State to an 81-62 non-conference win against Northern Illinois (Nov. 26). Katie Broadway also scored 20, which was two points shy of her career-best. It marked the second time in four games that Broadway had scored 20 points. She also netted 20 points at Northwestern (Nov. 17).

GOOD TO BE HOME
After starting the 2011-12 season with a 1-2 record on the road, Illinois State returned to Normal, Ill., to open the regular-home season in Redbird Arena. The Redbirds defeated Northern Illinois Saturday (Nov. 26th), 81-62, and will host Illinois-Chicago at 7:05 p.m., Monday evening (Nov. 28th), before heading to the southwest to play in the ASU Classic in Tempe, Ariz.

MAKING IT RAIN
Junior transfer Jamie Russell had an explosive game on Nov. 21 against Eastern Illinois, as she drained a career-high 30 points with 28 of them coming in the second half. Despite her record-setting effort, the Illinois State women's basketball team fell to the Panthers, 83-69. The last time a Redbird player scored 30 or more points in a game was during the 2009-10 season, when Ashleen Bracey tallied 32 points against Drake (March 6).

SEEING DOUBLE
Marley Hallrecorded her second-straight double-double in the game against Northern Illinois (Nov. 26). She tied a career-high 10 rebounds and scored 12 points. The first double-double of Hall's career came nearly a week ago against Eastern Illinois (Nov. 21) with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Her double-double at EIU set a career-high in points.
