NORMAL, Ill. - Former Illinois State basketball star Osiris Elridge was selected in the first round with the 12th pick overall by the Dakota Wizards during the 2011 NBA Development League Draft Thursday night. Eldridge's time with Dakota was short-lived, as the Wizards traded his rights to the Bakersfield Jam.
Since leaving Illinois State, Eldridge has been playing in Europe. He suited up for Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir in the Turkish League last season and played this preseason in the French League with BCM Gravelines Dunkerque Grand Littoral.
Eldridge, a three-time All-Valley first teamer with the Redbirds, led the league in scoring with 15.5 points per game and he also pulled down four rebounds per contest during the 2009-10 season.
